Planning your interior repaint in the Illawarra
A successful interior repaint starts with a clear scope and a practical plan for the rooms you use every day. Whether your home is in Wollongong, Thirroul, Figtree, Dapto or elsewhere in the Illawarra, tell us how you use the space and what you want to change.

Walls, ceilings and trim: decide what belongs in the quote
A walls-only refresh differs from a full repaint that includes ceilings, doors, skirting and architraves. Look at adjoining rooms and doorways when choosing the scope: a fresh wall colour may make older trim look different. Agree which surfaces, colours and finishes are included before comparing totals.
Prepare the room as well as the surface
Tell us about furniture, wall-mounted fittings, curtains and anything fragile. Agree what you will move and what needs protection. Point out earlier water damage or recurring cracks; a fresh coat does not correct the cause of a building problem. Surface repairs and any work required from another trade should be discussed separately.

Choose paint for how the room is used
Think about washing, daylight and the amount of handling a surface receives. Walls, ceilings and doors can need different finishes. Ask about the proposed products and sheen rather than selecting solely from a colour name. Use the colour visualiser for ideas, then check real samples in daytime and evening light.
Living at home while work happens
Discuss the sequence of rooms, access, ventilation and drying times before the job begins. Whether a room can be used that evening depends on the work and products involved. Let us know about children, pets, working from home or particular sensitivity to paint odours so practical arrangements can be discussed.
Compare the complete interior painting price
Use the written scope to compare quotes: walls and ceilings, trim, repairs, protection, products and exclusions. A room count on its own will not account for high ceilings, detailed mouldings or a large colour change. Our pricing guide walks through these differences.
